ACERUN was founded by Matt Stephenson who began playing disc golf in 2002 with a small group of friends.  He was immediately drawn to the challenge of the sport, but was more taken by the people he met through the sport.  Matt describes them as genuine, down-to-earth, open minded people, who are always willing to get to know and help a new player.  He credits these people for the outlook he has of the sport.  To him disc golf is much more than a sport, but more of a movement!  He loves that disc golf does not discriminate.  The sport is accessible and affordable to people from all walks of life.  By working together, staying positive, and spreading the word, he believes that we as players can help this movement grow and reach the world in a positive way.
